ST. LUKE’S LATCHKEY
The Latchkey program offers parents an after-school SAFE HAVEN for their
children. We lease the Head Start bus to transport the children from school to
the church. Our program offers them the opportunity to have a snack and play
with other children , as well as interaction with adult staff and volunteers.
All of our adults are screened as required by our church. Most of them have been
with us for 5 to 8 years. We serve families from all denominations.
We register children in grades K thru 5th grade (if they have attended a
previous year we will allow them to stay in the program thru the 5th grade.) Our
schedule runs concurrent with the school schedule. We are available every full
day of school and scheduled Early Out days. Children must be picked up by 6P.M.
Our program offers many activities such as games, puzzles, arts & crafts, music,
movies, reading books & regular trips to the library. We teach the love of Jesus
Christ and the Lord’s Prayer. We also teach good manners and personal respect
for ourselves and others.
We charge $4.00 a day, per child and we require each child attend a minimum of 7
days per month. WE DO NOT FUNCTION AS A DROP-IN DAYCARE. All children must be
registered with proper medical releases and information. Bills are sent out
monthly. We also have a Financial Aid Plan in place for families who require
assistance.
